Shenzhen Samii Medical Center (The Fourth People's Hospital of Shenzhen) is a municipal general public hospital that integrates medical services, research, teaching, disease prevention, health maintenance and rehabilitation healthcare. Directly under the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission, the hospital is constructed in accordance with the standards for Grade III general hospitals. The hospital is rated as a Child-friendly Hospital of Shenzhen Municipality. In 2020, the hospital won the honor of “Excellent Organization in Fighting against COVID-19 of Shenzhen Municipality”. In the Selection of China Hospital Construction Awards in 2021, the hospital was recognized as one of the “Most Beautiful Hospitals in China” in the Fourth Most Beautiful Hospitals in China Evaluation.

The hospital is jointly operated by a professional teamco-established by Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission and Prof. Madjid Samii, Honorary President for Life of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS). Promoting the spirit of “Being enterprising and pioneering with unprecedented motivation” of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, the hospital is the first and so far the only municipal public hospital jointly operated by Chinese and foreign sides in China. The hospital has a foreign national who has rich hospital management experience as the Hospital Director and has foreign physicians and foreign employees. In its operation, the hospital reasonably draws on the internationally advanced hospital management modes and standards, introduces international service concepts, and provide quality medical services for patients from home and abroad.
