On August 26, the Vision Care Center & Base for Myopia Prevention and Control in Children and Adolescents of Shenzhen Samii International Medical Center (The Fourth People's Hospital of Shenzhen) (SSMC) was officially unveiled.

To do a good job in myopia prevention and control and better serve patients with myopia and ametropia caused by various diseases, the  Ophthalmology Department of SSMC, with the strong support of the hospital, officially invited public bidding through Shenzhen United Property and Equity Exchange and finally decided to establish the Vision Care Center based on ophthalmologic cooperation with Doctor Glasses Chain Co., Ltd. Meanwhile, the department also applied to Shenzhen Optometric Association for listing and establishing a base for myopia prevention and control in children and adolescents to orderly carry out the prevention and control work of myopia in children and adolescents under the supervision and guidance of the association and the city's ophthalmologists.

The Vision Care Center of SSMC will carry out triage, refraction fitting, visual training, appointment and referral, and eye health management, and provide patients with a series of supporting services for myopia prevention and control, including mass screening in schools, fitting of glasses with refractive correction function, fitting of contact lenses (including soft and Ortho-K lenses), health education services, visual training services, establishment of visual files and myopia prevention and control files for adolescents. It will also provide services for the correction of ametropia caused by various diseases, low vision aids fitting, vision rehabilitation training, etc.
