The TCM Department is a department which specializes in traditional medicine and mainly provides outpatient services. The department adheres to the core concepts of holism and syndrome-differentiation-based treatment of TCM. It provides medical services by applying traditional Chinese medicine and the applicable TCM techniques including traditional acupuncture, moxibustion, fire acupuncture, floating acupuncture, seven-needle acupuncture, press needle acupuncture, acupoint catgut embedding, meridian needling and bloodletting, etc., coupled with adjuvant therapies aided by modern equipment. The department has a beautiful service environment and a professional physicians’ team, which includes 2 Chief TCM Physicians and 2 Attending TCM Physicians. The department has modern equipment, including percutaneous drug delivery apparatus, warm acupuncture and electroacupuncture apparatus, ultra-short wave therapeutic apparatus, etc.
Scope of services: The department provides outpatient TCM therapies on common diseases, frequently occurring diseases and refractory diseases of Internal Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology and Pediatrics and participates in the joint consultation for inpatients of other departments of the hospital. The department is able to treat a variety of clinical diseases. In addition, it also plays a role in preventative care before the onset of diseases, by mainly applying Traditional Chinese Medicine to improve the sub-health state of people to achieve the purpose of disease prevention. In future, the department will also undertake relevant clinical research and teaching tasks and strive to develop itself into a municipal and provincial key specialty in South China.
