Today is May 14^th, also Mother's Day. On this special day, the medical staff from the Gastroenterology Department of Shenzhen Samii Medical Center (The Fourth People's Hospital of Shenzhen) (SSMC) came to the Party and Public Service Center of Liulian Community, with a health care package for everyone.

Nearly 20 medical staff from the Gastroenterology Department of SSMC participated in this activity to provide residents with free health examination and health lectures, which were highly praised and appreciated by the citizens.

In this activity, the Gastroenterology Department of SSMC brought the international advanced technology called "Capsule Endoscopy for H. Pylori Screening" to residents. This non-invasive procedure can not only detect H. pylori infection but also allow for culture and drug sensitivity testing. With this precise screening approach, residents can receive more targeted treatment for H. pylori infection, with an eradication rate of over 96.9%.

Besides, Shenzhen Samii Medical Center also introduced the world-leading equipment Fibroscan, which can be applied in non-invasive quantitative examination of hepatic fibrosis and fatty liver. The free examination during this activity allowed residents to know their liver health, including whether many indicators such as stiffness value and fat change value are within the normal range. This provides a more accurate basis for the diagnosis and treatment of liver disorders such as chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis and fatty liver.

In addition to examination services, the medical staff of SSMC also gave health lectures to popularize gastrointestinal health knowledge to residents and promote the concept of early gastrointestinal cancer screening, helping them enhance their health awareness and management capabilities.

While offering free consultation in this activity, the medical staff also listened carefully to the residents' health problems and gave professional advice and guidance. What's more, citizens in need also made an appointment for painless gastrointestinal endoscopy within the following week, so that they can receive relevant examinations in time.

In total, this activity completed 87 H. pylori tests, including culture and drug sensitivity tests, and performed 62 liver elastography examinations. The activity was not only to celebrate the Mother's Day, but also to promote the concept of health screening and help residents enhance their health awareness and improve their health management capability. It was a precious gift for community residents and a positive guide to their healthy lifestyle.
