To celebrate the seventh “Chinese Doctors' Day,” Shenzhen Samii Medical Center (The Fourth People's Hospital of Shenzhen) held a commendation conference centered around the theme of “Embracing Humanistic Values and Demonstrating the Caring Heart of Doctors” on August 16. The event emphasized the noble professionalism of “Revering Life, Saving Lives, Devoted to Service, and Boundless Love.” The conference, hosted by LI Weixin, head of the Office of Medical Services, was attended by Prof. Madjid Samii and his team, along with leadership, mid-level managers, and representatives from various medical departments of the hospital.
In his opening remarks, WANG Cheng, CPC Secretary and legal representative of the hospital, offered heartfelt greetings to the dedicated physicians at the hospital. He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the families and friends who have consistently supported medical workers. He encouraged medical workers to remain true to their original aspirations, learn from advancements in the field, dedicate themselves to their work, continuously strengthen their sense of responsibility in serving patients, and integrate their personal ideals into the medical profession with a sense of professional honor and mission.
Prof. Madjid Samii, representing the German team involved in the collaboration, extended holiday greetings and warm wishes to all medical staff. He expressed particular joy in celebrating Doctor's Day following the successful completion of a challenging surgery. He highlighted the importance of respecting life, noting that while physicians must deliver exceptional medical care, they should also prioritize humanistic considerations and the psychological well-being of patients and their families.
At the conclusion of his speech, Prof. Samii thanked CPC Secretary WANG Cheng, Hospital Director Dr. Ethan Kholdebarin, and the hospital management for their hard work over the past few years. He expressed confidence that the hospital is on track to become one of the best in China and worldwide in the near future.
Prof. Amir Samii, Vice President of the International Neuroscience Institute (INI), Hannover and a key member of the German team, also addressed the audience, offering his holiday wishes. He reflected on his numerous visits to China over the past 20 years, witnessing the evolution of the country's healthcare sector. He highlighted that healthcare is the pillar of society, and physicians are the cornerstone of healthcare. Facing the complex and ever-changing global healthcare environment and the growing health demands, he called on all medical colleagues to join Prof. Madjid Samii in upholding the noble spirit of "Devoted to Service and Boundless Love" to continue helping patients worldwide.
The conference concluded with the recognition of five outstanding individuals from the first half of 2024: LIU Shidan, Associate Chief Physician of General Surgery; ZHAO Yun, Associate Chief Physician of Dermatology; CHANG Jiang, Chief Physician of E.N.T.; QUE Zhongyou, Attending Physician of Neurosurgery; and WANG Jianchun, Head of the Diagnostic Laboratory and one outstanding team — the Department of Stomatology. Prof. Madjid Samii congratulated these individuals and the team, presenting them with commemorative certificates.
