Recently, the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality released the list of organizations approved in 2024 to establish Shenzhen Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Bases, and the Fourth People’s Hospital of Shenzhen is honored to be selected. This year, Shenzhen has approved the establishment of 52 postdoctoral innovation practice bases.
Our hospital’s selection not only demonstrates its outstanding capabilities and innovative potential in medical research, but also showcases the hospital’s remarkable achievements in talent cultivation and research platform development. This will provide crucial talent support and an innovation platform for the hospital to drive independent innovation, deepen university–enterprise cooperation, and attract and nurture high-caliber talents.
About the “Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base”
The Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base is initiated by the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government to implement the “Pengcheng Talent Plan.” It aims to further strengthen the important role of postdoctoral programs as a “strategic reserve of high-level talents.” Its main purpose is to create a channel for talent flow between enterprises and research institutions, to promote close integration of industry, academia, and research, and to serve as an important platform for high-caliber talent training, scientific and technological innovation, and the translation of research findings.
In recent years, our hospital’s researchers have undertaken a total of 63 scientific projects at various levels, including 15 government-funded projects, 7 GCP clinical trials, and 44 IITs and enterprise-funded projects, yielding fruitful results. In addition, the hospital has published 286 papers, including 97 SCI-indexed articles with a cumulative impact factor of 387.54 and 30 papers in core journals, and has been granted 13 invention patents and 197 utility model patents.
In terms of talent cultivation, the hospital has deepened its cooperation and exchanges with universities, establishing close ties with Zunyi Medical University, Shenzhen Technology University, Shantou University, Xiamen University, Guangzhou Nanyang Polytechnic College, Xuzhou Medical University, and Changchun University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. This has strengthened regional medical education collaborations and laid a solid foundation for building a new collaborative education model based on resource sharing and complementary advantages.
The successful approval of establishing the Shenzhen Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base will also provide a high-quality platform for attracting top research talents. Leveraging this platform, the Fourth People’s Hospital of Shenzhen will continue to build a collaborative, innovative, and open medical research base, fueling strong momentum for the hospital’s progress toward becoming a research-focused hospital while also improving regional healthcare.
