Time flies, but the commitment of medical professionals remains steadfast and unwavering.
On November 11, 2025, the Fourth People’s Hospital of Shenzhen celebrated the warm moment of its fifth anniversary since officially opening.
Over the past five years, the medical institution, rooted in eastern Shenzhen, has grown from a mere blueprint to a widely recognized name, consistently safeguarding the community’s health with both its solid expertise and professional care.
As the first municipal public general hospital in eastern Shenzhen, the Fourth People’s Hospital of Shenzhen has upheld its mission from the outset to address the shortage of high-quality medical resources in the region and extend high-level healthcare services across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The hospital’s founding mission has driven continuous effort and steadfast work day and night over the past five years.
Achievements of Five Years
With solid expertise, the hospital establishes itself as a model for excellence.
Over the past five years, guided by the principles of "adopting international standards, providing high-quality care, and developing distinctive specialties,”the hospital has continuously advanced in facilities development, specialty growth, and service systems, establishing a solid framework of“Large General Hospital with Strong Neuroscience.”
This hospital stands as China’s only public hospital model established through Sino-foreign collaboration.

As a Grade III general public hospital directly under the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission, the hospital has built on close collaboration with the team of Prof. Madjid Samii, Lifetime Honorary President of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS), integrating an international perspective since its founding and playing a central role in the healthcare development of the Pingshan District. The hospital covers an area of 90,000 square meters, with a total building area of 210,000 square meters. It currently has 600 beds, and after the completion of Stage II in 2027, the total number of beds will reach 1,000, further extending its service coverage.
Continuously improving quality of medical services

Over the past five years, the hospital has seen consistent growth in the number of patient visits while maintaining high-quality medical services in the region. The proportion of complex Level IV surgeries has risen steadily for three consecutive years, demonstrating its improving expertise and ability to handle severe and critical cases. International medical services have also experienced rapid growth, not only meeting the healthcare needs of cross-border patients with complex and severe conditions but also playing a key role in international healthcare in the Greater Bay Area.
Nationally leading medical equipment

Adopting a patient-centered approach, the hospital is fully outfitted with state-of-the-art medical equipment. It has all kinds of large scale equipment, including 2 units of 3.0T MRI, 64-slice spiral CT, container CT, DR, DSA, and digital gastrointestinal machines. The hospital has 22 operating rooms, including a Hybrid Operating Room exclusively for neurosurgery, robotic surgery rooms, 2 Class 100 laminar air flow ORs, 7 Class 1,000 laminar air flow ORs, and 7 Class 10,000 laminar air flow ORs, enabling precise diagnosis and treatment of complex and critical cases. Its equipment and facilities have reached a nationally leading level.
With an investment of approximately 200 million yuan, the 3,000㎡Hybrid Operating Room exclusively for neurosurgery is equipped with intraoperative DSA, 3.0T intraoperative MRI, surgical navigation systems, robotic assistance, and neuroendoscopy. For high-difficulty cases such as complex cerebrovascular diseases and tumors in functional brain areas, one-stop precision treatment is achieved, with the patient not moved while advanced surgical equipment is brought to and integrated around them.
The hospital’s neuroscience has risen to rank among the world’s leading level.

With a development strategy focused on neuroscience and covering eight subspecialties, the hospital has achieved rapid, leapfrog development in the field of neuroscience. It has established a comprehensive care system for vestibular schwannomas, covering precise diagnosis, personalized treatment, functional rehabilitation, and long-term follow-up. With nearly 100 surgeries performed annually, the hospital has achieved a 100% total tumor resection rate and a 99% facial nerve preservation rate, reaching world-leading standards. Prof. Madjid Samii’s pioneering surgical technique in semi-sitting position fills a gap in South China, making the hospital one of the few medical institutions in China capable of performing vestibular schwannoma surgeries in both the lateral and semi-sitting positions.
