On December 15, 2025, the 2025 Annual Academic Conference of the Medical Architecture Design and Process Branch of the Shenzhen Medical Association, chaired by The Fourth People’s Hospital of Shenzhen, was held at the Nanshan Innovation Building in Shenzhen. The conference focused on frontier ideas and innovative practices in medical building design, bringing together experts from multiple fields to explore future directions of the industry.

Guest Speeches at the Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony was moderated by YANG Jianfeng, Advisor of Medical Architecture Design and Process Branch. CHEN Ribiao, General Manager and CPC Secretary of Hong Kong Huayi Design Consultants (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and President of the Shenzhen Exploration & Design Association, welcomed the attending experts and underscored the importance of cross-sector collaboration between architectural design and the medical field. Dr. Kholdebarin, Hospital Director of The Fourth People’s Hospital of Shenzhen, outlined from a management standpoint the essential demands of modern hospital construction on medical process design and expressed strong support for the Medical Architecture Design and Process Branch’s work. WANG Cheng, Chairman of the Medical Architecture Design and Process Branch and CPC Secretary of The Fourth People’s Hospital of Shenzhen, reviewed the Medical Architecture Design and Process Branch’s annual work and looked ahead to the crucial role of medical process in healthcare development. YE Pei, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shenzhen Medical Association, congratulated the conference on its convening and highly commended the Medical Architecture Design and Process Branch for its role in promoting academic exchange and advancing the industry.

Thematic Presentations

The thematic presentation session featured four speakers sharing cutting-edge insights. Director HAN Yanhong focused on human-centered design in medical architectural processes, elaborating on the“people-oriented” design philosophy and approaches to enhance doctor and patient experience. Hospital Director XING Lihua, from the perspectives of architecture and social development, reviewed the evolution of hospital architecture and explored new paradigms for the hospital spatial design in the future. Architect ZHANG Haoruo analyzed differentiated design strategies and practical applications for general hospitals and specialized hospitals. CPC Secretary WANG Cheng, in the context of sustainable development strategies, shared systematic pathways and methods for the construction and operation of green hospitals.

Conference Summary

In his concluding remarks, WANG Cheng, Chairman of the Medical Architecture Design and Process Branch, noted that the conference covered key topics in medical architectural processes, with expert presentations demonstrating both solid theoretical grounding and significant practical value.
