On March 8, 2026, the 7th Clinical Skills Competition and Labor Skills Competition for University Students held by Zunyi Medical University successfully concluded in Zunyi, Guizhou Province. Led by our hospital’s faculty members including YUAN Bo, ZHANG Fanjuan, and XU Guilian, eight interns from our hospital, LIU Jiajun, YU Xueyao, ZHANG Guoqi, ZHANG Zhicheng, LI Baihui, LI Xiangbi, FANG Qinglin, and ZENG Libin, stood out among 54 teams from 39 clinical teaching bases nationwide. They won one second prize, one third prize, and the team was awarded the Excellent Organization Award. Their outstanding performance demonstrated the strong teaching capability of our hospital and delivered a special tribute to all female staff in celebration of International Women’s Day.

Held under the theme “Upholding Medical Ethics, Improving Medical Skills, Honoring Medical Professionalism, and Showcasing Professional Excellence,” the competition brought together 216 medical students from Guizhou, Sichuan, Shanghai, Guangdong, Chongqing, and other regions to compete on the same stage. It provided a comprehensive assessment of students’ clinical skills. During the competition, our students remained calm and composed. In simulated emergency scenarios, they demonstrated rapid response and excellent teamwork in completing high-difficulty procedures such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), defibrillation, endotracheal intubation, and emergency trauma management. They demonstrated strong professional qualities, including respect for life and compassionate patient care, as well as excellent teamwork. Ultimately, they advanced to the final round with solid theoretical knowledge and proficient clinical skills and achieved excellent results.


At the forum titled “Deepening Medical-Education Collaboration for High-Quality Development” on Clinical Teaching Reform and Excellence-oriented Talent Training concurrently held by Zunyi Medical University, Director YUAN Bo delivered a thematic report titled “Improving Quality and Efficiency toJointly Cultivate Good Doctors.” The report was well aligned with current trends in clinical teaching development and received high recognition from attending leaders and experts.
This outstanding achievement reflects our hospital’s strong commitment to teaching and its continuous efforts in promoting medical-education collaboration, as well as a strong demonstration of the quality of intern training. Looking ahead, our hospital will continue to uphold the principle of “promoting teaching and training through competitions,” further deepen clinical education reform, and enhance the effectiveness of talent cultivation, in order to nurture more healthcare professionals who are compassionate, highly skilled, and responsible in safeguarding public health.
