2026-05-10

On April 24, the Kashgar Prefecture of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region held a meeting to summarize and commend the work of the 11th batch of personnel sent from other provinces and cities to support Xinjiang. At this meeting, XU Ruijia from the Health Maintenance Clinic of The Fourth People’s Hospital of Shenzhen was awarded the honorary title of “Outstanding Cadre and Talent of Xinjiang Aid Program”.

Actively responding to the hospital’s call, XU Ruijia chose to put aside personal and family considerations for the greater good. He made a decision with determination to leave the coastal region of the South China Sea and traveled to a remote, high-altitude snowy area at about 4,000 meters above sea level to work there. He remained steadfast in his original aspirations, faithfully carried out his duties, and kept in mind the important instructions given to him. Despite multiple challenges such as harsh environmental conditions and language barriers, he overcame these difficulties, fulfilled his responsibilities through practical and dedicated work, and served the local people with sincerity and care. He successfully completed all his assigned tasks in the Xinjiang aid program, demonstrating the responsibility, dedication, and professional excellence of medical professionals from Shenzhen.

XU Ruijia: A“Pioneer” in Health Management who helped build a solid health examination system in remote border areas.

As a professional in the field of health management, he served as the head of the Health Examination Department at the People’s Hospital of Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County during his Xinjiang aid assignment. In this role, he fully leveraged his technical expertise. He led the planning and IT development of the Health Examination Department, established “one-stop” health examination services, and systematically introduced advanced management experience and standardized operating procedures from Shenzhen to enhance key areas such as process optimization and quality control in health examinations. Through hands-on mentoring, he gave 16 specialized training lectures, mentored 3 trainees under a “master–apprentice”model, and carried out 5 new projects and techniques. He shared his precise and efficient skills in health examinations, helping to train a group of key local professionals in health management.

In response to the health screening needs of people in remote border areas, he actively promoted improvements in health examinations and the use of new technologies, significantly improving the early detection rate of diseases and the ability to assess health risks. During his period of working in Xinjiang as part of a support program, he frequently went to remote grassroots areas such as Datong Township and Kukexiluge Township. There, he provided free consultations and health education activities, bringing high-quality health management services directly to the resident communities. His work earned widespread praise and he was awarded the title of “Outstanding Expert of  Xinjiang Aid  Program”by the local authorities.

XU Ruijia, through his dedicated work and sincere devotion, not only provided immediate medical support but also helped develop self-sustaining medical ability and long-term growth for the local area. By bringing compassionate care and professional expertise to the border regions of the motherland, he earned high recognition from both the staff at the assisted organization and local people of different ethnic groups. The award he received not only signifies personal honor, but also reflects our hospital’s achievements in external assistance and support initiatives.

Looking ahead, the Fourth People’s Hospital of Shenzhen will continue to steadfastly implement the Party’s strategy for governing and developing Xinjiang in the new era. From a higher strategic perspective and with more practical measures, the hospital will further strengthen its efforts in technical support,  joint specialty development, and talent training, ensuring that high-quality medical resources take root and flourish in the border regions of the motherland, and contributing more to the building of a“Healthy China” and “Healthy Xinjiang.”
