In the “2021 China Hospital Construction Award Selection Activity” jointly held by the Organizing Committee of the 22nd National Hospital Construction Conference, Zhuyitai.com, the Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, the “Health Care Design (HCD)” magazine and the “Architecture Technique” magazine, Shenzhen Samii International Medical Center (SSIMC, The Fourth People's Hospital of Shenzhen) was rated as “A Most Beautiful Hospital in China” in the fourth selection activity and awarded the honorary title of “2021 China Hospital Construction Award”.

1. Architectural beauty - soft, free and innovative

The facade design of the hospital introduces the streamlinedshapesimilar to cells rather than adopt the square box form of traditional hospitals, which weakens the mechanical and stiff sense of the building and makes people feel softer and freer from psychological and visual views.

The building of a hospital also provides the city with a garden. The hospital strives to create a child-friendly medical environment, which has won the title of child-friendly hospital. The Pediatrics Clinic and Pediatrics Ward are equipped with children’s entertainment facilities, and the walls are decorated with cartoon painting, for the purpose of relieving the tension of children seeking medical treatment.

Caring for vulnerable groups, the hospital is actively building itself into anelderly-friendly hospital. The hospital staff actively and extensively participate in volunteer service activities, providing one-to-one service guidance for the elderly.
