Recently, the highlights with regard to hospital construction, diagnosis and treatment services, epidemic prevention and control constantly sprang up in Shenzhen Samii International Medical Center (SSIMC, the Fourth People's Hospital of Shenzhen): SSIMC was awarded the "Age-Friendly Medical Institution of Guangdong Province in 2021"; the Obstetrics & Gynecology Department developed rapidly and won high praise from patients; the defense line of nosocomial infection was strengthened by epidemic prevention and control…the rapid development was advanced in SSIMC by joint efforts.

Among them, YANG Rui, Head of the Obstetrics & Gynecology Department, was awarded the "Advanced Worker of Maternal and Child Health Care in Shenzhen in 2021" by the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission; the team led by LUO Tianmeng, Head of the Quality Control and Complaint Management Department,won the title of "Age-Friendly Hospital" for SSIMC; ZHANG Zitong, Head of the Infection Control Department, was praised by the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission.

Age-Friendly Medical Institution in Guangdong Province in 2021

Since the establishment of an age-friendly medical institution, SSIMC has carried out various tasks carefully and meticulously under the leadership of the leading group. SSIMC has provided a range of conveniences in details for the hospital visiting of the elderly from the aspects such as travel, medical treatment and medical care. By making efforts, SSIMC was officially awarded as the "Age-Friendly Medical Institution in Guangdong Province in 2021" by the Health Commission of Guangdong Province. In this selection activity, only 5 public hospitals in Shenzhen were awarded this title, among which SSIMC was the only newly-built hospital.

Remarkable Achievements in Construction of the Obstetrics & Gynecology Department

Recently, YANG Rui, Head of the Obstetrics & Gynecology Department of SSIMC, was awarded the "Advanced Worker of Maternal and Child Health Care in Shenzhen in 2021" by the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission. With true love of maternal and child health undertakings, YANG Rui works in a serious and responsible attitude. The Obstetrics & Gynecology Department of SSIMC, with strong medical resources and excellent diagnosis and treatment levels, has successfully dealt with many difficult cases such as pernicious placenta previa, pregnancy hypertension and postpartum hemorrhage, and won the reputation of strong hard strength in mothers and female patients. In terms of soft power, under the joint efforts of all members of the department team, the Obstetrics & Gynecology Department has established a more pleasant environment with all kinds of thoughtful facilities revealing warmth, cleanliness and comfort. In the Obstetrics Department, VIP special needs wards are equipped with TV sets, refrigerators, washing machines and other common household appliances and daily necessities, which provide great convenience for mothers to give birth, and make them feel the warmth from medical staff during the production process.

Defense Line of Safety Strengthened by Nosocomial Infection Control 

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, SSIMC has done a good job in the prevention and control of nosocomial infection, and resolutely obeyed the overall situation of epidemic prevention and control and work scheduling in Shenzhen, making an important contribution to the epidemic prevention and control work in Shenzhen. No case of nosocomial-infected adverse events occurred in SSIMC during follow-up observation task of COVID-19 convalescent patients, nucleic acid testing and vaccination, which firmly built a defense line of nosocomial infection for medical staff and created a safe environment for patient visiting.
