From December 10 to December 11, 2022, the Symposium on Ultrasound Diagnosis and Progression of Abdominal Vascular Diseases (Second Session), a municipal continuing education program sponsored by the Medical Ultrasound Department of Shenzhen Samii Medical Center (the Fourth People's Hospital of Shenzhen) (SSMC) and organized by the Ultrasound Medicine Committee of Pingshan Medical Association was successfully held in the Lecture Hall of Management Building of SSMC both online and offline. The symposium had a total of 61,800 online views and everyone said they had gained a lot from it.

WANG Cheng, CPC Secretary, Legal Representative and Deputy Hospital Director of SSMC, addressed the symposium. He sincerely thanked all experts for their full support of the symposium, and hoped that this symposium could further promote the diagnosis and treatment of abdominal vascular diseases and the development of medical ultrasound in Pingshan District and SSMC.

Abdominal vascular diseases may lead to hemodynamic disorders in multiple organs in the abdominal cavity or the whole body, and can even be life-threatening. The intricacy of the condition often leads to doubts of sonographers and makes it difficult for them to decide the ultrasound diagnosis of abdominal vascular diseases. In response to these problems, a number of renowned experts from Guangdong and across China presented high-level professional lectures at this symposium, covering various aspects such as standardized operation of hepatobiliary and pancreatic ultrasound, analysis of blood flow spectrum, ultrasound diagnosis, imaging diagnosis and clinical treatment of aortic diseases, inferior vena cava diseases, vascular complications after liver transplantation, Budd-Chiari syndrome, visceral aneurysms, mesenteric artery diseases, renal arteriovenous diseases, and the latest technical progress.

The slides prepared by the experts were engaging, and sophisticated concepts were explained in plain English, offering a feast of knowledge about abdominal vascular diseases. Prof. HU Pingxiang, Prof. HAN Yanni, Prof. JIANG Wei, Prof. E Zhansen, Prof. HAO Yi, Prof. ZHANG Jie, Prof. LI Wenying, Prof. LI Xiang, Prof. LI Minwen, Prof. WANG Xinyuan, and Prof. LIU Yuanjian were invited to host the symposium. The experts' witty comments and summaries amazed every participant.

Finally, Prof. LUO Xiaoli from the Medical Ultrasound Department of SSMC concluded the symposium with a closing speech, in which she thanked all experts again for their contribution to delivering such a high-level academic feast.
