At about 20:00 on June 14, at the nucleic acid test point at Guangya Garden, Wuhe Community, Bantian Street, Longgang District, Shenzhen City, the medical staff of Shenzhen Samii International Medical Center (The Fourth People's Hospital of Shenzhen) met a couple holding a little girl running and shouting for help!

The physician WANG Xinyuan, who was carrying out nucleic acid sampling task, immediately held the kid. The physician observed that the little girl was about 3 years old. Her face was flushed, and her lips were cyanotic. She had no consciousness at all, and could not respond to the call. Even worse, her limbs were paralytic, and her vital signs were weak, which was very critical.

WANG Xinyuan asked, “What did you give to your kid to eat at night?” The parents said their kid had dinner, jelly and Zongzi in the evening. With more than 30 years of experience in first aid, WANG Xinyuan initially judged that the kid’s trachea might be choked by food. He immediately called HUNG Qilong, Charge Nurse of ICU, and LIU Tigong, Attending Physician of Anesthesiology Department, to rescue the kid.

HUANG Qilong has worked as a nurse in the ICU for ten years. He recalled the details at that time and said that the on-site medical staff rescued the kid in turn.

The medical staff cleaned up the foreign body in the kid’s mouth to open the airway, and successively cleaned out the half cooked rice and diced lean meat. After 15 minutes, with the discharge of a piece of meat, the kid cried out immediately, and her limbs resumed normal motion.

Meanwhile, the ambulance called arrived and the kid was sent to the hospital for further treatment. After the event, the physician said that if the kid was rescued one minute later, it would be life-threatening for her. Fortunately, the physicians at the scene of nucleic acid test rescued her in time and saved a life.

At about 21:30 that night, the medical staff went to the hospital to see the little girl, finding her vital signs had returned to normal.
